so...i'm leaving ghana

yes, you heard it right. i leave for the airport in an hour. a night flight to frankfurt, a 6-hour layover, flight to detroit, 3-hour layover, flight to charlotte, flight to savannah. then, i'm done.
we've been having so many "lasts." last ghanaian meal (okro stew- yum! death by palm oil...), last run at sunset, last shower, last time writing at my desk, last walk around campus, etc. we've taken photos. we've said our goodbyes (to everyone except each other). you thought you wouldn't feel so sad, but you do. you give everyone hugs, but you want to go around and give more hugs, one last time. i want to press memories on my heart, bottle scents, record the sound of voices, absorb all i can. it's extremely surreal that the day i've been longing for week after week is finally upon me (yes, that's the honest truth. not every minute of every day, but you all should know the semester hasn't been easy). of course, i;ve got tons of updating to do on this blog. and, of course, i;ve got no idea when ill be able to use the internet next. and, of course, my compy is giving me problems. but the point is- i'm leaving ghana. semester over.
